Farewell HNKP

Dear HNKP (Joze),

It was a total shock to me to receive the news from Leng that you'd left us...it happen just in a sudden and i'm still unable to accept it..how could you?? As if it was yesterday when i first met you during our PGHK gathering last year. It was a privilege to get to know you and you're indeed a great friend. I will always remember your laughter and your bubbly charcacter. May you free from suffering now and good bye...

Please forgive me for not being able to see you for the one last time. I did asked Leng to pass my message to you.

My ''Tang Yuen''

Chinese in the world today celebrates 'Dong Zhi' or commonly known as Winter Solstice in the western world. The festival is one of the most important festivals celebrated by the Chinese and other East Asians usually on or around December 21st when sunshine is weakest and daylight is the shortest.

A must have delicacy for this occasion is the ''Tang Yuen'' (sweet glutinous rice ball dessert). The preparation usually begins the night before where all the family members gather around, which symbolise reunion and knead the flour and form it into small and large glutinous balls. The ''Tang Yuen'' is then left over night and cooked early next morning.

Below is the preparation of mine. I'm too lazy to get the flour and make it from scratch so, i got the ready-made from the store.

Anyway, i missed celebrating the festival again with my family this year. Never mind, i'm flying back home in 28days for CNY, hoooray!!! Here, i would like to wish all of you 'Happy Winter Solstice' !!

Christmas Shopping Spree

As we are approaching the month of December, which means Christmas is just round the corner. Although the UK is badly hit with the recent global economic credit crunch, one would still be able to notice that the shopping centres and departmental stores are packed with 'ants' arming with big and small shopping bags.

Did a little of 'so-called' Christmas shopping today in town (even though i don't really celebrate it). The whole city of Manchester was jamned with people on every corner of the streets trying to sort out their Christmas shopping. Went to Selfridges, Next, Topshop, French Connection, Espirit, H & M and Marks & Spencers just to name a few. My initial intention was just to do some window shopping but, end up i bought myself a nice gorgeous winter coat from Espirit, a jumper from H & M and a simple tee from FCUK.

To be honest, there're too many stuffs which were simply irresistable. I was like .... "i'm having that" ..... "i'm gonna get that for myself" ....

On my way back home, i bumped to Louis Vuitton outlet in Selfridges. I went in to have a look and trust me people, it's GORGEOUS !!! but, it would cost me a fortune to purchase anything there. What i wish to have is the 'monogram canvas florin wallet' which drew my attention the most. Guessed i need to start saving up from now to get myself this little present for this Christmas or any sponsorships ??

Greetings From the Taukeh
